I started working as a freelance attorney a few years ago so I could spend more time with long distance family and playing in the mountains, without navigating a traditional schedule. Or a traditional commute, for that matter. Freelance writing grew directly out of the freelance law practice and I truly enjoy the pursuit of both forms of happiness!

I grew up in Wisconsin, and received my BA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I moved to Minneapolis, and earned a JD from University of Minnesota Law School. After too many years of serious wintering, I moved west to Colorado (no really, it's warmer here). When I'm not writing or lawyering, I can be found watching concerts at Red Rocks, skiing, hiking or camping, at a music festival, practicing yoga, checking out the newest brewery, reading, or traveling to visit family and friends.
